PITCH GUIDELINES

The Wine Zine welcomes original pitches on a wide variety of topics relating to the people, ideas, and places related to natural and minimal-intervention wine. We’re looking for previously unpublished ideas on topics that aren’t being published elsewhere: up and coming wine regions, relatively unknown producers, ways of thinking about the industry that feel innovative and fresh, or histories that connect the intersection of wine and culture.

Your pitch should include a working headline, a 150-word summary of the story, and a proposed word count (we typically do not publish longform pieces that exceed 1,200 words). The summary should include why readers of the Wine Zine should care about this story, why this is an important story right now, how your story might add to or build on what has already been said about this topic, and links to relevant studies and source bios (if appropriate).

If you haven’t written for the Wine Zine before, please include links or PDFs of recently published work. If this will be your first published piece, feel free to share that! We welcome writers of all levels of experience. We can’t respond individually to every pitch, but if we want to move forward with your pitch we will likely be in touch within 1-2 weeks.

Submit pitches to: hello (at) thewinezine (dot) co.
