Natural Wine 101 : Featuring New York Wines
Natural Wine 101 : Featuring New York Wines
When: February 27, 2020 / 7pm to 8:30pm
Where: 22 Ludlow Street, New York, NY
In this introductory level class we’ll explore natural wine through the lens of our favorite New York natural winemakers: Bloomer Creek (Finger Lakes), Liten Buffel (Niagara Escarpment), Floral Terranes (Long Island), and Wild Arc Farm (Hudson Valley).
We’ll taste through their wines (four total) while talking about the farming and cellar techniques used in natural wine making, plus common terminology, how to describe what you like about certain wine, and ways to think about what we’re tasting. You’ll leave with your own wine notebook and greater confidence in talking about, tasting, and shopping for natural wine. Snacks generously provided by Farm to People.
Taught by Katherine Clary, editor of the Wine Zine and forthcoming book Wine, Unfiltered. Tickets are non-refundable.
